  • Books 4 Babies

A home visiting program for families with infants/young babies.  Families receive information about infant brain
development and activities to increase brain connections and support learning. 
Free books at each visit, too!  No cost. 

  • Abundance of Books for Child Cares
Licensed childcares in Carlton County can have a volunteer Reader come to their home/center to read to the children. The Reader will also brings books for the children to take home to keep. No cost.
  • Families Share Learning
    (Adult Basic Education / GED)
Parents of young children who want to study for a GED and/or improve skills in reading, writing, math or learn English attend with their child(ren)-birth to school age. Lunch and transportation as well as child care and preschool provided at no cost while parent studies with an Adult Basic Education teacher. Adult Area Learning Center

Increase math, reading and writing skills to obtain or keep a job, prepare for post secondary, further training and increase self sufficiency, GED preparation for the high school
equivalency exam, budgeting, computer basics, time management and skills for individuals not enrolled in high school and with lower than 12th grade educational needs
